True healing requires more than just medicine. CASEC wraps patients in a network of emotional, physical, and practical support, from diagnosis and treatment to follow-up after treatment and, at the very end, palliative and hospice care.
Program 8 of 11
Patient support
We provide comprehensive, whole-person care that bridges clinical, emotional, financial and practical gaps for cancer patients and their caregivers.
What we do
We bring essential everyday comfort items, vitamins, fresh fruits, wigs, and prayer cards right to patients in hospital or at home.
We assist patients by providing transportation and accompanying them to their medical appointments.
We treat the individual, not just the disease, by focusing on long-term well-being and pain management.
Supplies and help for local teams caring for crisis victims.
HPV immunization for prevention, and screening to detect cervical, prostate and colorectal cancer early, all at no cost to the patient.
We ease the burden of care by offering vital financial support for diagnostic testing, critical cancer treatment and surgical interventions.
We distribute free medical supplies, wigs, and breast prosthetics to support physical restoration and body confidence.
Field notes
True healing requires more than just medicine. CASEC wraps patients in a network of emotional, physical, and practical support, from diagnosis and treatment to follow-up after treatment and, at the very end, palliative and hospice care.
We ease the burden of care by offering vital financial support for diagnostic testing, critical cancer treatment and surgical interventions, for patients who could not otherwise afford them.
Poverty should not be a death sentence. We connect crisis victims with resources and deliver medical and surgical supplies, and funding when needed, to the local teams caring for them.
Whole person care: relieving the symptoms of people who are chronically ill with cancer, HIV/AIDS and other conditions, and training and supporting their caregivers. In Cameroon it is offered with Cameroon Baptist Convention Health Services, at no cost to patients. We supply equipment such as beds, wheelchairs and walkers, items that ease adult and pediatric patients' pain and suffering, and support small projects that improve hospital wards and services.
Volunteers visit patients, provide transportation and go with them to their medical appointments. To ask for a visit, write to casec@patchafoundation.org at least 7 days ahead.
