Field notes
About World Cancer Day
Each year we join the global community to commemorate World Cancer Day on February 4. We engage in various activities aimed at reducing the cancer burden and supporting cancer patients, including offering free cancer screening, organizing workshops, visiting patients, media sessions about cancer, and public sensitization.
What we do on the day
Around 4 February we hold public talks and screening workshops on cancer facts, risk factors and symptoms, screen women for breast and cervical cancer, and visit cancer patients in hospital with moral support, pain medication, fruit, wigs and prayers. We also encourage the health workers who care for them.
Close the care gap
Recent World Cancer Day themes have called for equity in access to cancer care. Never underestimate the power of working together to save lives.
Together, we can do more
Be part of the care.
Every gift funds free care, screening and medicine for people who would otherwise go without.
