2013 Walk USA Report and Pictures
Burtonsville, MD, October 19, 2013 – Dozens of people laced up their walking shoes for a good cause!
The 3 ½ mile walk was refreshing on that brisk morning as walkers reported back to the walk hub at the Rockdale Park. Back at the hub, fried fish, fried and barbecued chicken, barbecued ribs with sides of puff puff, baked beans and rice were ready to be served. Then everyone gathered for a prayer and balloon release that was emotional as messages written on the balloons made their way seemingly towards heaven.
We walked to raise disease awareness in our communities in the diaspora and in Cameroon. We walked to raise funds for the CASEC medical mission 2014 in the Northwest and West regions of Cameroon.
All of the approximately $900 proceeds from the walk will benefit the foundation’s CASEC initiatives.
A heartfelt thanks to all walkers and supporters.
