Buea School For The Deaf (BSD)

Buea School For The Deaf (BSD) is a boarding school for deaf children in Buea, Cameroon.
It was founded in 2003 by deaf couple Aloysius & Margaret Bibum in response to the inadequate education of the deaf in Cameroon. Starting with 13 students BSD now boasts students from nursery through secondary school, fluent in Cameroon sign language. Graduates of the program are enrolled in universities around the world including the USA and leading productive lives.
BSD is also instrumental in the recognition and acceptance of Cameroon Sign Language as an invaluable communication tool.
