Dr Kuete is currently a Senior Molecular Genetics Review Analyst at GeneDx, a leader in clinical genetic diagnostics. He is an interdisciplinary scientist with background in Biochemistry, Molecular and Cell Biology, Molecular and Genetic epidemiology, Cancer epidemiology and public health.
Dr Kuete has expertise in gene therapy and vaccine and has spent more than 8 years of his research in this area within the Biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries; At GenVec, a Biopharmaceutical company he contributed for more than 5 years in developing a pipeline of innovative therapeutics and vaccines that deliver on the promise of gene-based medicine.
Prior to joining GenVec, Dr Kuete worked for 3 years at ViRxSys Corp. a Biotechnology company where he contributed to the development of the gene based vector used in clinical trial as prophylactic vaccine against HIV. Prior to ViRxSys, Dr Kuete worked at DNA Technologies where he developed innovative molecular based products and services that expedite and enhance scientific research and collaboration in genomics and proteomics. Dr Kuete is currently focused in molecular genetics diagnosis and has been providing expertise in this area for more than 4 years.
At the national and international arena, Dr. Kuete is member of the American Society of Human Genetics (ASHG), member of the American Public Health Association (APHA), member of the International Genetic Epidemiology Society (IGES), and member of the Human Variome Project (HVP).
